It can be difficult to hear yourself clearly when life is moving quickly and so much is competing for your attention. You may know something needs to change without yet knowing what that change should look like. Therapy can offer the time and perspective to understand what is happening beneath the surface, reconnect with your own needs, and begin making choices that feel more intentional and more like your own.
Modality and Approach
My approach is strengths-based, culturally responsive, and grounded in curiosity, empathy, and empowerment. I have experience working with immigrants and trauma survivors and recognize that emotional well-being is shaped by culture, family, relationships, identity, and lived experience. As a daughter of South Asian immigrants, I bring an appreciation for the ways belonging, family expectations, cultural values, and identity can shape how we understand ourselves and what we believe is possible. At the same time, I approach each person with openness and curiosity, recognizing that every individual’s relationship to their identity and experiences is uniquely their own.
Drawing from motivational interviewing, harm reduction, and strengths-based approaches, I tailor therapy to each person’s needs, values, and goals. I work with adolescents and adults, individuals and couples, navigating anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, OCD, chronic insomnia, grief and loss, relationship concerns, work stress, cultural identity, and minority stress. Together, we can make sense of patterns that feel difficult to shift, build on the strengths you already have, and create practical, meaningful changes that support the life you want to move toward.
What is one thing you do daily that supports your mental and emotional well-being?
I love watching football with family and friends. I enjoy cozying up on the couch on a Sunday, spending time with the people I care about, and, of course, yelling at the referee when a bad call inevitably seems to cost my team the game. I also enjoy baking cookies, listening to podcasts, and journaling.
