My therapy style is collaborative, warm, open and non-judgemental. In this nurturing space I help you to be empowered and explore what makes you feel disconnected from your core self and others. Our work together is centered around your immediate goals, and overcoming trauma or challenges from the past. We will work together to find strategies to achieve your goals so you can live life with more joy and ease.
Modality and Approach
My approach is individualized and based on your unique needs. I draw from psychodynamic principles while incorporating elements of mindful cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP) to explore our mind-body connection. In this way we work to access feeling states that may be keeping you stuck. Together we will explore strategies to help you live with more self-compassion and confidence. While our sessions together may have a creative flow to them, I like to share practical tools that will support you as you address things you would like to change.
I love supporting people as they navigate change in their lives. I am a parent as well as a daughter of an aging parent, so I have experience balancing career and caregiving responsibilities in New York City. My previous work was in the arts and I know the unique challenges and rewards of this life choice.
Whether you are exploring life transitions, relationship challenges, or dysfunction within your family, my approach is always gentle and supportive. I am an LGBTQIA+ ally as well as a supporter of 12 Step recovery. In our work, we will incorporate humor and respect as we uncover new aspects of yourself and identify your goals in order to live the life you want.
What is one thing you do daily that supports your mental and emotional well-being?
I benefit from a daily yoga practice–even 15 minutes a day makes me feel happier! Also, giving my dog tummy rubs and lots of dog treats is part of my daily self-care routine.
