I use a warm, person-centered approach to work collaboratively with my clients, honoring you as the expert of yourself. Compassion, non-judgment, and connection lead my work as I prioritize the emotional safety and rapport built between my clients and me. I take a strengths-based approach, affirming my client’s existing abilities to cope, and the insight that can be gained when we examine ways of coping that no longer serve us. I am a queer practitioner dedicated to providing identity-affirming, culturally-humble care. Curiosity is used to combat shame and assist clients in getting “unstuck” in unfulfilling patterns and ways of looking at themselves, the world, and others.
Modality and Approach
I take an integrative approach, tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs. My work is always trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and identity-affirming. I use a relational and attachment-based lens, pulling often from Internal Family Systems, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, and Mindfulness Practices. The mind-body connection is integral, as nervous system regulation and trauma stored in the body are addressed every step of the way.
What is one thing you do daily that supports your mental and emotional well-being?
Dance! I am a lifelong dancer and creator. I have found immense comfort in the meditation of movement.
